Whiteread's drawings offer both an exporative generator and a pictorial re-imaging of her cast works. Her drawing style is architectural, subtle and restrained (much like her sculptures themselves) while employing varied media and techniques (ink wash and pencil, grid paper, collage, strong use of white paint) depending on what is trying to be communicated.
